Pets get dressed up to celebrate their own holiday
Only the most fashionable of canines can pull off a hat and scarf.
For “National Dress Up Your Pet Day” Wednesday, readers sent in photos of their pets donning the latest in pet fashion.
Some had motives behind their attire. Twitter user Rita McConnell said in her family, they dress their family pets as a way to dissolve the aggravations that accompany being a dog owner. Her dog sported a shirt that said “I Eat Stuff.” He has an undiscerning palate with a taste for dolls, ornaments, and, of course, shoes.
The holiday was founded by animal advocate Colleen Paige as a way to promote pet adoption.
