1 min read

LUCERNEMINES (AP) – State police were trying to figure out why a woman’s sport-utility vehicle crossed the center line on a western Pennsylvania highway, causing a head-on crash that killed her and two people in another vehicle.

Troopers from Indiana, Pennsylvania say the victims are 45-year-old Tammy Henderson, the SUV driver, and 56-year-old Alden Harkleroad and 19-year-old Jessica Adamczyk. Harkleroad was the other driver and the young woman his backseat passenger.

All of the victims were from Saltsburg, which is several miles near Center Township, where the crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 286.

Police say Henderson was rounding a curve when she crossed into the oncoming lane.

Henderson died a short time later at a hospital, while Harkleroad and his passenger died at the scene. A second passenger wasn’t identified and was taken to the hospital.
