Police beat Jan. 16

Harassment charge: Justin K. Minor, 22, of Washington, will be charged by state police with harassment after he allegedly punched Lisa M. Kiskadden, 44, also of Washington, in the chest during a confrontation Tuesday at 789 Banetown Road, Amwell. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

One injured: Thomas Shorraw, 53, of Bobtown, was slightly injured early Wednesday when the vehicle in which he was a passenger, driven by Matthew Shorraw, of Monessen, was hit by a vehicle driven by Charles A. Harry, 58, of Norton, Va., on southbound Interstate 79 near the Marianna exit, Amwell. State police said Harry fell asleep at the wheel.

DUI charge: Susan M. Wagner, 54, of Coal Center, will be charged by California police with driving under the influence of alcohol and traffic violations after she allegedly ran a borough police vehicle off California Road Friday. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Warrant served: Jamie Leigh Greer, 26, of 719 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with fleeing from police and failure to render aid, accused of leaving the scene of a crash after her vehicle collided with another at Eighth Street and Long Alley about 2:45 p.m. Dec. 16, court records show. She is in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond after being arrested in the case Wednesday and arraigned by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

One injured: Joleen Najowicz, 51, of Finleyville, was injured Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle struck the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by James D. Mann of Carnegie as they were trying to merge onto Interstate 70 east at Murtland Avenue, South Strabane. State police said she went to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Two charged: Luis Antonio Cruz, 18, of 278 N. Franklin St., Washington, and Jordan E. Drew, 19, of 140 Erie St., Washington, were charged Thursday by state police stemming from a Jan. 3 traffic stop on Murtland Avenue near Sharp Avenue, Washington. Cruz is charged with possession of marijuana, driving under the influence of marijuana and traffic violations. Drew is charged with possession of paraphernalia. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

String of burglaries: Multiple burglaries were reported to city police Tuesday. Garages and sheds were targeted on the 400 block of Fayette Street and the 500 block of West Chestnut Street. Homeowners said they were missing hundreds of dollars worth of lawn supplies. A business owner on the 500 block of North Main Street reported about $1,500 worth of lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen while the store was closed.
