Father charged in assault of infant
A Greene County father was charged with assault in an alleged incident resulting in the hospitalization of his two-month-old son.
State police in Waynesburg charged Jeffery Michael Kennedy, 19, of 268 W. Greene St., Waynesburg, with aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children. Kennedy was in Greene County jail on $75,000 cash bond.
Police said the boy was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with subdural hematomas and other injuries consistent with “shaken baby” cases. His name and condition were not released.
They said the incident occurred between 6 p.m. and midnight Friday at North 88 Road in Jefferson Township.
