Fort Pitt Tunnel closure planned
The inbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Tunnel on the Parkway West (Interstate 376) in Pittsburgh will close to traffic this weekend for tunnel ceiling removal work.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, the inbound tunnel will close to traffic around the clock through 6 a.m. Monday. All traffic will be detoured. Signs will be posted to guide motorists.
The outbound tunnel will remain open, although there may be short-term stoppages for equipment access and material removal.
Eight full weekend closures requiring detours will occur during this project. Additional traffic restrictions will occur during off-peak hours and on weekends.
