Woman hurt in Bentleyville vehicle accident

BENTLEYVILLE – A woman was injured Wednesday night when she steered her car into the side of a tractor-trailer on Main Street in Bentleyville.

The woman, whose identity wasn’t available, was unconscious when local firemen arrived, but she did not appear to have suffered life-threatening injuries before she was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital, state police said.

She was traveling north near 1004 Main St. when her car cross the center line about 7:45 p.m. and collided with the southbound truck, police said. She will be issued a citation over the accident involving an Empire Express Inc. truck from Memphis, Tenn., a trooper said.

The truck was hauling consumer products, a Bentleyville fireman said.
