Commissioners approve change order for scanning
WAYNESBURG – Greene County commissioners Thursday approved a change order with a company scanning orphan’s court documents in the county clerk of courts office.
The board approved the request from Paperless Technologies in the amount of $11,692 and the commissioners also approved another request to add marriage records to the project in the amount of $24,810.
“The company is scanning documents, many as old as 1895, into computers, because the books containing these records are falling apart,” said Clerk of Courts Sherry Wise.
The commissioners also approved a certificate of appreciation for Bill Czmiel of Wind Ridge. Czmiel recently retired after six years as the van driver for the Greene County Veterans Affairs transportation program. The program runs Monday through Thursday transporting patients on select days to the Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System clinic and a VA outpatient clinic in Washington.

In other business, the commissioners acknowledged a $5,000 gift from EQT to the sheriff’s office.
