Meeting recap: Washington County Commissioners
• Date: Jan. 22
• Action: The board approved an amendment to the oil and gas lease that permits Range Resources to drill beneath airport property, adding two, 50-by-50-foot parcels of land in North and South Franklin townships.
At the request of the Planning Commission, the board requested a certification of $61,682 in interest from the 2014 Clean and Green funds to be used for agricultural land preservation easement purchases during this program year.
At the request of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, the commissioners approved a $344,475 decrease in the agreement with Southwest Behavioral Care Inc. through June 30, bringing the contract total to $1,014,988.
At the request of the Human Services Department, the commissioners OK’d a $212,133 agreement with Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania to provide transitional housing for victims in Washington County through Nov. 30.
At the request of the Building and Grounds Department, the commissioners approved a $200-per-month contract with Waste Management for solid waste and recyclable collection and disposal for the former youth development building in Arden now used by Tyler Technologies Inc. during the countywide property reassessment.
At the request of the Purchasing and Human Resources departments, the commissioners OK’d an agreement with Inservco Insurance Services for workers’ compensation and loss prevention claims for a flat fee of $18,000 this year.
