Theft, forgery charges: Robin Lynn Wharton, 43, of Imperial, was arraigned Friday before District Judge David Mark on charges of forgery, theft, receiving stolen property and writing bad checks filed by Canonsburg police. She is accused of asking Monteka Johnson to cash checks for her totaling $1,150 earlier this month. Johnson cashed the checks at her bank for Wharton only to learn the checks were bad and the money was taken from her account. Wharton was released on her own recognizance.

Two face charges: Andrew John Wellhausen, 28, of Homestead, will be charged by McDonald police with possession of marijuana and public drunkenness and Robert B. Furlong Jr., 28, of Pittsburgh, will be charged with public drunkenness stemming from an incident early Sunday. Police spotted the two sitting, slumped over, at the bus stop at East Lincoln Avenue and Arabella Street about 2:30 a.m. Both were intoxicated. Wellhausen had a marijuana joint. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

Habitual offender: Curtis Moore, 39, of Aliquippa, will be charged this week with being a habitual offender stemming from a Nov., 29 traffic stop by state police on Route 19 at Trinity Point Drive, South Strabane. Police said he was driving on a suspended license. He was taken into custody on a warrant obtained by Ambridge police on drug and assault charges.
