Three sentenced in county court

WAYNESBURG – Three criminal defendants pleaded guilty in the Greene County Court and were sentenced. They included the following:

Lucas John Cumpston, 23, 403 Hewitt Ave., Carmichaels; offenses – four counts of criminal mischief with a pecuniary loss, unlawful taking, four counts of receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, and five counts of harassment and stalking. Police said from July 8 to July 25, Cumpston committed multiple acts against Geno Virgili of 122 Blaker Ridge Road, Carmichaels and Rob Cole of 592 E. Greene St., Carmichaels. Cumpston slashed tires on vehicles owned by Virgili and Virgili’s daughter, Mia. Mia Virgili is Cumpston’s ex-girlfriend. Cumpston also stole a field camera, later retrieved from his residence with footage that included Cumpston slashing the tires and taking the camera. Cumpston also slashed the tires of Cole’s vehicle and threw lit firecrackers and screws into the driveway of the Cole residence; sentence – three years of probation, $947.41 restitution, $1,500 in fines, plus court costs and fees and 150 hours of community service.

Kelsy Marie Kashycki, 24, of 136 Pershing Blvd., Nemacolin; offense – retail theft. Kashycki was arrested Aug. 22 after she stole two packages of meat and a Monster Energy drink from Brodak’s Shop ‘n Save in Carmichaels; sentence – 14 days to 6 months in jail, 75 hours of community service and restitution to Brodak’s of $19.79.

Michael Patrick McClure, 29, of 223 Rutters Lane, Carmichaels; offenses – acquisition by misrepresentation and possession of a controlled substance. Police said McClure phoned the Medicine Mine Pharmacy in Carmichaels March 29 pretending to be with the office of a Dr. Singerman to request prescriptions for Diazepam, Sertraline and Atenolol. McClure picked the prescriptions up March 30 presenting his insurance card and driver’s license. On April 1, the Giant Eagle pharmacy in Rices Landing contacted Medicine Mine when McClure tried to obtain the same prescriptions there; sentence – two years of probation, $500 in fines, plus court costs and fees, and 225 hours of community service.
