WCHS students of month named
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Brittany Straight and Gunjan Patel were selected by the high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for January.
Straight, daughter of Scott and Sally Straight, Waynesburg, maintains 4.0 grade-point average.
She is a member of National Honor Society, French club and both the marching and concert bands.
She also received academic excellence recognition for four years and academic awards in math, science and English.
She is a member of Pumpkin Center Church of Christ where she has attended church camps.
Straight plans to attend West Virginia University and major in chemical engineering.
Patel, son of Vimal and Digna Patel, Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
He is a member of National Honor Society, French club, band and library service. He has received the Presidential Award, as dwell as academic awards in math, literature, chemistry, physics, advanced algebra, accounting, biology and French.
Outside of school, he attends religious activities at temples in Pittsburgh and helps his parents at the Holiday Motel.
Patel plans to attend college and become a pharmacist.
