1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh police are searching for a suspect who fired multiple gunshots into a stopped car, killing a passenger in the backseat.

Police say officers on patrol in the city’s Beltzhoover section heard the gunshots around 3 a.m. Thursday and saw a Chevy Impala carrying the victim speed from the area.

The car eventually stopped on a Route 51 ramp near the Liberty Tunnels. Officers say the other occupants of the car told them a man had approached the car and opened fire.

They say one of the shots hit the man in the backseat. Police haven’t released his name.

No one else was injured.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing.
