Police file several retail, theft charges

South Strabane Township police filed retail theft and related charges against several people this week.

Syna McOsker, 37, of Washington, and Courtney Lynn Ellis, 24, of 77 Aylesworth Ave., Washington, are each charged with conspiracy, retail theft and theft by deception for allegedly stealing items from Walmart, Trinity Point, and returning them for a gift card. McOsker, who is in Washington County jail, allegedly stole the items Nov. 14 while Ellis reportedly stole items Jan. 21.

Marissa Platek, 23, of Bethel Park, and Ashley Louise Burnsworth, 31, of 644 Amity Ridge Road, Washington, are each charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Kohl’s, Strabane Square. Platek reportedly stole clothing and video games valued at $235 Jan. 22. Burnsworth is accused of stealing $109 in items Dec. 20.

Denise M. Dupain, 28, of 28 Homestead Drive, Avella, is charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing 33 items valued at $227 from Walmart Dec. 21.

Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
