Truck driver injured in Carroll Township tanker crash

1 min read

A tanker truck driver was injured Friday morning when he lost control on a slippery access road to a well site in Carroll Township.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital about 9:40 a.m. The truck overtured near EQT’s Robert Smith site off Shannon Road and spilled about 4,200 gallons of production water over the hillside, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection.

DEP spokesman John Poister said an inspector went to the site to determine if a nearby stream was affected, but Poister had not heard the results as of Friday afternoon.

Additional information, including the name of the truck driver and the extent of his injuries, was not immediately available.
