Firearms charge: A North Franklin Township man was arraigned Wednesday on charges filed by state police claiming that he provided false information on an application to purchase a firearm. Darnell Knight Medlen, 26, of 253 Roosevelt St., was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of illegal sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification. Medlen reportedly went to the ARH Sport Shop, 4174 Route 40, Buffalo Township, on Feb. 7 to purchase a gun. On the application, he indicated that he had not been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than a year when he had a misdemeanor retail theft conviction. Medlen was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
Bike stolen: Robert Kendall reported to city police that his electrobike, valued at more than $1,100, was stolen from outside Hidden Treasures thrift store on West Chestnut Street at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Vandalism: David Hlipala, of the 300 block of Duncan Avenue, reported Tuesday his garage door had been broken. It did not appear that the garage had been accessed.
