Stepdad to trial for 6-year-old boy’s alleged beating
CLYMER – A Western Pennsylvania man must stand trial on charges he injured his 6-year-old stepson so severely doctors say it looked like the boy had been in a car accident.
Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Green, of White Township, was ordered to trial on attempted homicide and other charges after doctors testified Tuesday that the boy’s life-threatening injuries resulted from child abuse.
Green is accused of kicking the boy in the stomach and face, squeezing him until he threw up and then claiming the boy fell down the stairs in March.
The boy’s mother, Stephanie Green, is awaiting trial on similar charges for allegedly helping to cover up the beating.
Brandon Green’s attorney says the boy has given “inconsistent statements” by first claiming he fell down the steps then later telling police that Green assaulted him.
