SAINT PETERS (AP) – Authorities say a boy drowned after he slipped on wet rocks and fell into a rain-swollen creek near Philadelphia.

State police in Chester County said the boy was walking along French Creek at St. Peter’s Village in Warwick Township when he fell into the water shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The county coroner’s office said 12-year-old Jacob Karnchanaphati was pronounced dead less than an hour-and-a-half later.

Corner Gordon Eck ruled the death an accidental fresh water drowning.
