Police beat July 9
DUI charge: Reagan L. Fike, 37, of 512 W. George St., Carmichaels, was charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment after Cumberland police said she nearly struck another car shortly before midnight Friday. Police said she nearly hit the other car at Crucible and Jacobs Ferry roads before driving past a road closed sign where a bridge is being reconstructed.
Cell phone stolen: Jessica Lee Jeffries, 34, of 47 Cecil Ave., Waynesburg, was charged Tuesday with theft after state police said she stole a cellphone from a fast food worker at 5 Sugar Run Road in Franklin Township May 28. Police said she returned the phone, worth about $350, after being confronted by the phone’s owner at another store.
Threatening phone messages: State police cited Sandra Lee Whitlatch, 55, of Wind Ridge, for harassment after troopers said she left several threatening messages on a Graysville hair salon’s phone voicemail over a four-day period last month.
Car vandalized: A minivan’s rear window was smashed early Sunday morning while parked along Oak Forrest Road in Gray Township, state police said.
Assault charge: Daniel W. Ealy Jr., 29, of 291 E. High St., Waynesburg, faces charges of simple assault and harassment after borough police said he punched a woman in the head outside his apartment June 12.
Flower theft: Borough police said they charged Jaime B. Haywood, 35, of 49 W. Locust Alley, Waynesburg, with theft and harassment after she allegedly attempted to dig up and steal six hybrid perennial flowers outside a home in the 500 block of East High Street about 9 p.m. Friday. Police said the resident confronted Haywood, who then slapped the woman in the face and ran from the area.
Truck missing: Star Dawn Lowery, 36, of 13 Valley Lane, Burgettstown, was charged Wednesday with receiving stolen property after Waynesburg police said she asked to borrow a man’s pickup truck June 10 and never returned it. The truck was located on Havers Hill Road in Jefferson Township June 26 and returned to the owner.
