Lock Four firefighters receive federal grant

1 min read

The Lock Four Volunteer Fire Company is receiving a federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey announced Friday the fire department in North Charleroi will receive a $38,096 through an operations and safety grant from the federal agency.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” the Democratic senator from Pennsylvania said in a written statement. “This money will help provide Washington County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

The funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which is designed to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first responders.
