Eight arrested after multiagency police sweep
WAYNESBURG – Eight people were arrested Tuesday on fugitive warrants and on drug and firearm charges in a sweep conducted by multiple Greene County law enforcement agencies.
The “multiagency saturation detail” focused specifically on those allegedly involved in crimes of violence and drugs, state police Sgt. Steven Dowlin said. The eight people arrested were:
• Ian Jared Nakonechni, 28, of Holbrook, on a warrant for aggravated assault.
• Gary Black, 52, of Waynesburg, on a warrant for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
• Amber Jenkins, 25, of Waynesburg, on a warrant for failure to appear for a probation violation hearing
• Justin McElroy, 25, of Waynesburg, on a warrant for failure to appear for a probation violation hearing
• Jessica Bender, 23, of Carmichaels, on a warrant for child endangerment.
• Steven Strohmeyer, 27, of New Freeport, on several warrants including one for failure to appear for a hearing on possession with intent to deliver. Strohmeyer also was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and illegal possession of a firearm.
• Kathleen Harmon, 32, of Greensboro, on a warrant for failure to appear for a probation violation hearing and on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
• Dathan Kimbell of Littleton, W.Va., on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
All but Kimbell were placed in Greene County jail, according to jail online records.
Participating in the sweep were state police, Waynesburg and Cumberland Township police, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County Probation and the Greene County District Attorney’s Office.
