Closures planned for Parkway West, Fort Pitt Tunnel
The state Department of Transportation announced there will be closures on the inbound Parkway West (Interstate 376) and Fort Pitt Tunnel this week, weather permitting.
The inbound parkway will be closed between the Interstate 79 interchange and the Fort Pitt Tunnel nightly through Thursday night, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The inbound tunnel also will be closed. A detour will be posted. There also will be a single-lane restriction on the outbound side between the Parkway Center Drive and the Carnegie interchanges.
From 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, the inbound parkway and tunnel also will close. The single-lane restriction on the outbound side will be in place from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday.
Then inbound parkway will close again at 10 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday between I-79 and the Parkway Center exit. The inbound tunnel will remain open. There will be a single-lane restriction on the outbound side from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.
