Mt. Morris native assigned to Turnpike division

Acting Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Marcus Brown promoted David Cain, a native of Mt. Morris, to captain and assigned him to work as the commanding officer of the police agency’s Turnpike division.

Cain previously served as the central patrol section commander of Troop T at the Highspire barracks, located about 18 miles south of Harrisburg. The troop oversees nine barracks across the state located along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

He is a 1984 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and attended West Virginia University. Cain joined the state police in 1989 and is a 2012 graduate of the 249th session of the FBI National Academy. During his career, Cain was a 13-year member of SERT, where he served as the Echo Team leader.

Cain and his wife, Sherry, reside in Bedford County with their children David, Madison and Abigail.
