Police beat July 25
Theft: Leslie Dodd told Canonsburg police a man in a dark-colored truck pulled in front of a residence in the 100 block of Richland Avenue about 9:15 p.m. Thursday and stole her son’s bicycle from the yard. Police were unable to locate the driver.
Theft from vehicle: Ericka Rivera of Ohio reported to police her purse and $15 were stolen from her unlocked vehicle about 4:30 p.m. Thursday while it was parked at 10 N. Jefferson Ave.
Theft: James Loebig told Chartiers police Thursday jewelry was missing from his residence in the 600 block of Allison Hollow Road. He believes it was stolen by someone who had permission to be in the house.
Hit-and-run: Derick Knox told police his vehicle was struck between 12:30 and 6:50 p.m. Thursday while it was parked in the 600 block of Allison Hollow Road. The vehicle had minor damage.
Retail theft: Robert Pimentel, 59, of 190 Pikes Peak Road, Prosperity, was charged by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing merchandise valued at $124 from Giant Eagle on July 17. Police said he threw a toothbrush at a female security officer when he was confronted, then drove away. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft: Rudolph Wazny, 55, of Davison Avenue, Elrama, reported to Southwest Regional Police on Friday an unknown person stole his trailer’s license plate while it was parked in the 4500 block of Finleyville-Elrama Road.
Hit-and-run: Carla Abrasheff, 45, of Royal Drive, South Park, reported to Southwest Regional Police Friday an unknown driver hit her 2015 Honda Accord in the rear while she was driving on Route 88. The person reportedly failed to provide accurate personal information and left the scene. Police said the vehicle was described as an older model, black Lincoln with West Virginia plates.
