East Bethlehem Township man jailed
An East Bethlehem Township man was arrested Friday on a warrant obtained by township police accusing him of threatening a neighbor and her boyfriend earlier this year after he was told by a district judge to have no contact with her.
James John Czegan, 47, of 29 Willow St., Fredericktown, was declared a fugitive July 15 by District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of terroristic threats, retaliation against a witness or victim, disorderly conduct and harassment.
Township police were called March 29 after Czegan allegedly yelled at his neighbor, telling her she was going to pay for what she had done. He also allegedly told her she had the privilege of seeing his genitals, police stated in court documents filed with Kanalis.
The neighbor reported to police last September Czegan made an obscene gesture to her and allegedly exposed himself to her. He was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct. Kanalis told Czegan not to have any contact with the neighbor. That case is pending in Washington County Court along with a separate case on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct after Czegan allegedly threatened a man inside Kanalis’ waiting room.
Czegan reportedly told the woman in March he has the FBI involved and has video of her. He also allegedly told her boyfriend that his “day is coming soon.”
Czegan was arraigned before Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond.
He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before Kanalis Aug. 3.
