Man beaten into coma near Pittsburgh dies

CRAFTON (AP) – Police say a suburban Pittsburgh man who was beaten into a coma in May has died.

David Poole died around 10 a.m. Saturday. He had been on life support.

Police say the 44-year-old Crafton man was attacked and robbed by three men while walking with a friend in McKees Rocks on May 26.

Poole’s family says the robbers took $60 and his cell phone. They say he was a father of four children and one stepchild.

McKees Rocks is about four miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh.
