ROGERSVILLE – State police said a man attempted to rob Rush Grocery Store in Rogersville late Monday before fleeing the store after a brief struggle with a store clerk.

Police said the man entered the store at 3267 Roy Furman Highway at 9:50 p.m. and handed the clerk a note demanding money and threatening to shoot her if she did not comply.

The clerk struggled with the man, who then fled on foot into Rogersville.

The man was described as white, between the ages of 30 and 40, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 in height and weighing between 150 and 180 pounds.

Police said the man arrived at the store in a white F-150, four-door pickup truck, driven by another person.

No further information was available from police Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-627-6151.
