A North Franklin Township man arrested last week by a detective with the Washington County District Attorney’s Sex Crime Unit waived his case to court Wednesday.
Joseph Andrew Brown, 49, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Central Court before District Judge Jay Weller.
The charges he waived include two counts each of indecent assault, corruption of minors, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and aggravated indecent assault of a child and one count each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child and sexual assault.
Donegal Township police received a complaint alleging Brown sexually assaulted two girls who were both under the age of 13. The abuse allegedly occurred in 2014 and early 2015 at locations in the Washington and Claysville areas.
Brown remains in Washington County jail on $500,000 bond after Weller denied a request to have it reduced. He also is not to have any contact with the alleged victims.
Brown also told Weller he was evicted from his previous residence on Cleveland Road.
He is scheduled to be formally arraigned on the charges Oct. 8.
