Theft, receiving charges: Kimberly Campbell, 54, of California, was charged Wednesday by California police with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing an electric air pump July 17 from California Manor Apartments. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Assault charge: Mark A. Hutchins, 34, 2555 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment after a domestic disturbance Sunday. According to court documents, police were told by Amanda Johnston, who has a protection from abuse order against Hutchins, that he pushed her off a chair to the ground, grabbed her hair and struck her face on a chair. An officer observed a laceration across Johnson’s mouth. Hutchins left the scene but was later picked up by police. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

House burglarized: State police are looking for information on a July 20 burglary of a home at 227 Castle Road, Canton. Electronics, jewelry and cash were stolen from the home. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.

Theft from vehicle: John Zitney, of 3010 Laura Lane, Lawrence, told police Tuesday $250 was stolen from his wallet, which was under the driver’s seat of his unlocked vehicle parked outside his home.

Father charged: Richard McKita, 49, of 225 McKean Ave., Charleroi, was charged Monday by Charleroi Regional police with endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and reckless driving after police were called to a domestic incident Sunday. Police learned from Kimberly Snyder that he reportedly took their infant and drove off without having the baby in a child-safety seat. Snyder was charged Sunday with child endangerment, simple assault and harassment, because she allegedly struck McKita. Police said she also had drugs in her system. McKita’s charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Possession charge: James D. Miller, 51, of 118 Castlebrook Drive, Venetia, was charged Wednesday by Charleroi Regional Police with possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false identification to law enforcement. Miller was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police. When asked for identification, Miller allegedly told officers he did not have any and provided an incorrect name and birthdate. He later told police his real name and said he was wanted on an arrest warrant. Police discovered an alleged crack pipe in the vehicle. Miller was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 percentage bond.

Harassment charge: Michael T. Stish, 41, of Daisytown, will be charged with harassment by state police for allegedly making threats to Nancy J. Slogick, 34, of Daisytown, in telephone calls to a house on Chestnut Street in Ellsworth. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.

Assault arrest: Joseph W. Burwell, 30, of 3500 Marion St., Finleyville, was arrested Wednesday on simple assault and harassment charges after a domestic dispute at his home. Monongahela police said he and his girlfriend, Hannah Stevenson, were arguing, and he allegedly head-butted her, grabbed her by the throat, pushed her against a wall and choked her. He also allegedly threatened to kill her. Burwell left the home but was taken into custody and arraigned Thursday before District Judge James Ellis and released on his own recognizance.

DUI charge: Kenneth C. Cypher, 52, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., was charged Tuesday by Hanover Township police with driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia after he nearly hit a tower in the First Niagara Pavilion parking lot. According to court documents, police found suspected marijuana and open containers of alcohol in Cypher’s vehicle. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Harassment alleged: Brittnay Brodak, 24, and Chriss Dillard, 23, both of Coal Center, will be charged with harassment by California police stemming from an altercation at 441 Mt. Tabor Road, Long Branch.

DUI crash: Christopher C. Carroll, 44, of 422 Duquesne Ave., Canonsburg, was charged by North Strabane police with DUI, careless driving and reckless driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash June 3 on Weavertown Road at the Interstate 79 on-ramp. The charges were sent by summons Tuesday from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Theft charge: Kristen Harps, 35, of 60 Carl Ave., North Strabane, was charged by North Strabane police with theft after she allegedly stole her neighbor’s wallet containing $40, a food access card and $188.98 money order June 9. Charges were sent Tuesday by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged with theft: Zakkary S. Wright, 22, of 28 Atlantic Drive, Washington, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with theft after he allegedly stole $178 from a group home on McDowell Lane while working for Pennsylvania Mentor Group Home. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

House burgled: A homeowner in the 100 block of Carol Drive, McMurray, told police Tuesday he found the rear door of his house kicked in. He is conducting an inventory to see if anything is missing.

Card stolen: Police said a resident of the 100 block of Elm Grove Drive, McMurray, reported Tuesday a credit card was stolen from her residence. An investigation found $1,250 in transactions around South Hills Village Mall were charged to her card Friday and Saturday.

Coins stolen: A resident of the 100 block of Maple Lane, McMurray, told police Tuesday $25 worth of coins were stolen from unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway.

Assault charge: William Jenkins Jr., 39, of 849 Henderson Ave., Washington, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after he allegedly struck Robert Flint Jr. of Washington in the parking lot of The Old Mill, 50 Old Mill Boulevard, July 22. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Burglary reported: An employee of Highland Profession Consultants of Jeannette told Southwest Regional police Monday two properties at 2012 and 2099 Rankintown Road, Union, were burglarized. Wires and pipes were cut and stolen. The properties were scheduled for demolition. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-929-8484.

Drug arrest: David Allen Piatt, 52, of 1283 Weirich Ave., Canton Township, was charged Tuesday by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force with possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and possession of paraphernalia following an investigation into cocaine trafficking in the 500 block of Maple Avenue. Detectives executed a search warrant at an apartment at 595 Maple and found eight rocks of crack, paraphernalia and cash. Piatt was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Man struck: William Volpe, 786 Addison St., told Washington police Tuesday he was hit in the face with a lighter thrown at him by a boy who he confronted about throwing rocks at his vehicle, damaging it. Volpe refused treatment for an injured lip.

iPod stolen: Randy Riggle of Washington told Washington police Tuesday his iPod was stolen from his convertible while it was parked at the Crossroads parking garage, North Franklin Street. Riggle told police the top was down on the convertible.
