Two arrested: Linda Jean Rossell, 52, of 102 Beatty Lane, Beallsville, and Charles William Rossell, 45, of 62 Beallsville Road, Fredericktown, were arrested Monday night by state police for allegedly assaulting each other during a confrontation at the Beatty Lane home. Linda Rossell told police that Charles Rossell came to the home and started an argument before punching her in the face. He told police that he went to the house to get keys for a van. He said his wife punched him and then he hit her. Both were arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of simple assault and harassment. They were placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bonds.

Paraphernalia charge: Cody Shepard, 24, of Fayette City, will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop Friday at Second Street and Lincoln Avenue, Charleroi Regional police said. Police said he was found with a syringe. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Couple arrested: Amber Stanek, 27, and her husband, Ronald Zaladonis, 36, both of 624 Highland Ave., Donora, are charged by the state Office of Inspector General with welfare fraud, accused of receiving $1,499 in benefits while failing to report household income between July 8 and Dec. 4, 2014, court records show. They are free on $5,000 bonds set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.

Theft arrest: Melissa A. Zelenka, 32, of 1025 Bedillion Road, Washington, was arrested Monday by North Franklin police on a charge of retail theft for allegedly stealing clothing valued at $303 from Sears at Washington Crown Center. Store security told police she was seen carrying the clothing into a changing room and coming out without the clothing. She allegedly put the clothes in a large purse she was carrying. Zelenka was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.

Two-car accident: A car driven by James Butcher, 32, of East Carson Street, Pittsburgh, was southbound on Washington Road waiting to turn into Donaldson’s Crossroads Monday when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a car driven by Andrew Labarbera, 21, of Meadowbrook Drive, Canonsburg. Labarbera said he was not aware traffic had stopped.

Items stolen: Toni Dillard of 850 Beech St. told South Strabane police Monday someone entered her apartment while she was sleeping last week and stole paperwork containing personal information, including bank statements and insurance information, from her purse.

Harassment charge: Rodney Long, 22, of 126 Hall Ave., Washington, was charged with harassment by Washington police after he allegedly grabbed the purse of Veronica Cleckey, also of 126 Hall, during an argument over money, causing her to fall to the floor about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Money stolen: Washington police said an employee of Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St., reported a cashier indicated she was going to get change Monday and took $775 out of a register. The cashier then walked out the door with the cash. Charges are pending.

Items found: State police said a pedestrian walking on Forrest Avenue in Washington found items including silver costume jewelry, keychains and a Swiss army knife in the area. To claim the items, call state police at 724-223-5200 with a description.

Drug possession: Raquel R. Bryner, 23, of 256 Lacock St., Canton Township, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest following a traffic stop Tuesday around 10 a.m. near Church Street, city police said. Bryner was also arraigned on possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin following a traffic stop March 23 at Addison Street and Hart Avenue, city police said. Bryner remains in Washington County jail on a $5,000 bond.

Driver charged: David A, Piatt, 51, of 1283 Weirich Ave., Canton Township, was arraigned on charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest Tuesday by District Judge Robert Redlinger following a traffic stop Tuesday about 10 a.m. near Church Street, city police said. Piatt was also arraigned on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop May 27 at McCarrell Avenue and Chestnut Street, and driving under the influence of cocaine and driving under suspension following a traffic stop March 23 at Addison Street and Hart Avenue, city police said. Piatt remains in the county jail on a $5,000 bond.

Paraphernalia charge: Evelyn D. Tillman, 37, of 1026 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was charged with possession of paraphernalia after Washington County sheriff deputies found a syringe in her possession in the county jail May 8, deputies said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Paraphernalia charge: Syna McOsker, 38, of 205 Roosevelt St., Washington, was charged with possession of paraphernalia after a syringe and an empty bag of heroin were found in her possession in the county jail May 8, Washington County sheriff’s deputies said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Drug charges: Dominique Cage, 19, of 240 N. College St., Washington, was charged with possession of heroin following an argument with Beatrice Blackburn, 29, of 1150 E. Beau St., South Strabane Township, on May 24 at Hall and Jefferson avenues, city police said. After being approached by an officer, Cage admitted to having heroin, city police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger. Blackburn was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her charges were also sent by summons from Redlinger’s office.

Harassment charge: Aaron W. Poole, 45, 38 Central Ave., Washington, was charged with terroristic threats and harassment after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman May 26, city police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Paraphernalia charge: James S. Skyes III, 51, of 1327 10th Street, Washington, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle violations following a traffic stop May 28 at West Chestnut and Washington streets, state police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Driver charged: Steven R. Brown, 35, of 436 Fayette St., Washington, was charged with possession of oxycodone, DUI and driving under suspension after a traffic stop Oct. 19, state police said. The charges were filed Tuesday and will proceed by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Man faces charges: Christopher R. Nelson, 37, of 83 Pigeon Creek Road, Eighty Four, was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, theft by deception, criminal conspiracy and access device fraud following three separate incidents occurring in October 2013, state police indicated in court documents. Nelson, who is in Allegheny County jail for other incidents, is being held on $5,000 bond.
