1 min read

WAYNESBURG – Fire destroyed a mobile home Thursday evening on Kirby Road in Whiteley Township.

Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company was called at 8:39 p.m. to 750 Kirby Road, fire Chief Jeff Marshall said.

The home was “on the ground” when firefighters arrived on scene, he said.

The home was occupied by James Ellis and his wife. Ellis told firefighters he noticed a spark and flame in an outlet next to a bed and called 911. He and his wife escaped unharmed. The property is owned by William Morris.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour-and-a-half. A state police fire marshal was called to determine the cause of the fire, Marshall said.
