Three accepted into ARD program
WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants were entered into the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program Wednesday by Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman.
Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year probation and pay all fines and costs. Defendants charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended and be required to refrain from the use or possession of alcohol.
Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their criminal records expunged.
Marvin Kenneth Bell, 67, of 139 Pine Bank Road, New Freeport, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and four summary traffic violations; arrested June 14, Bell had a blood-alcohol content of 0.148 percent.
Tristen Eugene Weyrick, 19, of 385 Harts Run Road, Cameron W.Va., charged with theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct; Weyrick stole an iPad from a vehicle on Bridge Street in Waynesburg Jan. 18.
Kayla Ann Anderson, 20, of 487 Morford Road, Aleppo, charged with retail theft; Anderson stole three blouses and a pair of leggings from Waynesburg Fashion Shop Sept. 15.
In other business before the court Wednesday, James George Matscherz, 39, of 153 W. Elm St., Waynesburg, who pleaded guilty Dec. 9 to DUI and a summary traffic violation, was sentenced by Toothman to 72 hours to 6 months in jail.
Matscherz also was ordered to pay $1,025 in fines and to perform 150 hours of community service. Arrest Feb. 19, 2014, Matscherz had a BAC of 0.199 percent.
