Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful is raffling off a chance to win a framed, watercolor painting by a local artist as part of the Summer Open House festivities in Waynesburg later this month.

Leslie Fehling of Prosperity painted “Old Glory” that features a section of High Street in Waynesburg as seen from the third story of the Fischer Antiques building on Church Street.

The painting depicts a westward view of both sides of the street and includes the First Federal and First National bank buildings. The eastern side of the Greene County Courthouse is also prominently depicted in the painting.

Among the people populating the scene is Greene County maintenance employee Bob Burrie, who can be seen mowing the courthouse lawn. The courthouse’s American and POW/MIA flags center the image, flying in the spring breeze and giving the painting its name.

“Old Glory” is matted and finished in a frame.

Tickets for a chance to win the painting are $2 each, or three tickets can be purchased for $5. Tickets are available now through June 30 at ArtBeat located at 52 E. High St., where the painting is on display.

They can also be purchased during the Summer Open House that will be held June 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Waynesburg’s business district.

The winning ticket will be drawn July 1. Fehling will also have framed and matted prints of the painting available for sale.

For more information, call Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful at 724-627-8119 or ArtBeat at 724-833-9058.
