PITTSBURGH (AP) — Trial resumes next month for a former western Pennsylvania councilman accused of improperly using money from the trust fund of an elderly widow.
Sixty-year-old Charles McCullough of Upper St. Clair is charged in Allegheny County with theft and misappropriation of funds.
The former Allegheny County councilman was charged in 2009 with improperly using more than $150,000 while acting as co-trustee of the elderly dementia patient’s trust fund in 2006 and 2007.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1L6ZSI6 ) reports that the defense called 10 witnesses after the prosecution rested Wednesday. The non-jury trial resumes July 27.
McCullough was acquitted of several counts this week but still faces more than a dozen charges. His 52-year-old sister, Kathleen McCullough, was acquitted of both counts she faced.
