Man, 81, found bound, dead in Western Pennsylvania home

1 min read

CORAOPOLIS (AP) – Authorities in Western Pennsylvania say an 81-year-old man found dead bound in his bed was the victim of an apparent robbery.

The man was found in his Kennedy Township home just before 4 p.m. Tuesday by a neighbor who frequently checked on the victim. Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman says Thomas Nicholson’s hands and feet were bound.

Kennedy Police Chief Anthony Bruni says he knew the victim, who he described as a retired man who lived by himself.

Authorities say there aren’t any signs of forced entry, but the interior of the home is in disarray. It’s unclear if the mess is from a robbery or clutter.

Detectives say he was seen alive on Monday, but don’t know what led up to his death.
