City woman arrested on drug charges
A Washington woman was arrested in her apartment Thursday by the Washington County Drug Task Force on felony drug charges.
Charlotte M. Thomas, 44, of 20 Acheson Ave., Apartment 3, was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and heroin, and possession of cocaine and heroin.
She was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Thomas was arrested following a several weekslong undercover investigation conducted by the drug task force.
County detectives recovered more than 50 grams of crack cocaine, 23 stamp bags of heroin, several thousands of dollars and additional drug paraphernalia.
The drug task force was assisted by the state police vice unit and officers from Washington Police Department.
“The increased activity of the drug task force and police over the past week indicates how significant of a problem dangerous drugs have become in our community,” said Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone.
It was the drug task force’s fourth arrest for felony drugs in less than a week.
“I commend the efforts of the officers as they work to rid Washington of dangerous drugs,” Vittone said. “I would remind the public that what they see happening in their neighborhoods is also helpful in eliminating drug dealers.”
Information regarding drug activity can be reported to the task force hotline at 1-800-281-0700.
