MCKEES ROCKS (AP) – Authorities say four teenagers were injured, three of them critically when their car crashed into a telephone pole in Western Pennsylvania.

Officials in Allegheny County said the crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday in Robinson Township.

Township police chief Dale Vietmeier said five 16-year-old boys were in the car, and four were taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Vietmeier told a Pittsburgh newspaper three were listed in critical condition while the fourth was treated and released.

Two of the teens were thrown from the vehicle during the crash. Police are investigating whether speed or alcohol were factors.
