Truck hauling water crashes

1 min read

A driver was slightly injured Tuesday morning when his truck hauling 109 barrels of water crashed on Lagonda Road in South Franklin Township.

State police said Richard P. Kearns, 28, of Burgettstown, was driving west when he lost control while attempting a left turn.

The truck rolled onto its side and slid about 28 feet before hitting an embankment.

The truck went up the embankment and hit a tree in the yard at 560 Lagonda.

Police said the water spilled onto the road.

Kearns was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of a minor injury, police said.

He will be cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
