An emergency helicopter has been called to the scene of a crash this morning at Routes 50 and 231 in Independence Township, according to a supervisor with the 911 dispatch center.

Black ice has caused several crashes throughout the county. State police have also been notified of several fender benders, but most have been non-reportable crashes where motorists were able to drive away.
