Police from Pennsylvania and West Virginia are combing the area Thursday near the West Alexander exit of Interstate 70 in Donegal Township after a suspect wanted on warrants fled on foot after crashing his vehicle.

Police are looking for Terry Watson, 27, of Moundsville, W.Va.

Trooper Matthew Jardine said officers with a West Virginia law enforcement agency pursued Watson’s 2010 Kia Forte until it crossed the Pennsylvania state line just before 2 p.m. The vehicle continued at a high speed before it failed to negotiate a right turn in the off ramp of Exit 1, according to state police. The vehicle proceeded east across the eastbound ramp and struck a guardrail. Watson fled on foot.

Police were still searching for him Thursday evening. Bradford Mease, 26, Jessica Williamson, 26, both of Moundsville, and a two-year-old child were taken to a West Virginia Hospital with minor injuries.

Watson was described as a white man, approximately 6 foot and was last seen wearing a blue jersey with yellow and white lettering.

“Right now, the efforts are focused on the search,” Jardine said, adding a K-9 from West Virginia is part of the effort. Police helicopters are also being used to search for the suspect.

Jardine said the suspect was wanted on warrants in West Virginia and an attempt was being made to stop him.
