Festival of Praise to be held at Waynesburg U.
The Waynesburg University Newman Club will present Festival of Praise: A Celebration of Faith, Learning and Service on Friday in Roberts Chapel.
The Newman Club will present and teach about the Catholic traditions of Eucharistic Adoration and Reconciliation as a time for followers of all faiths to grow closer to the Lord. This first-time event in Waynesburg will start at 6:30 p.m.
All denominations are welcome to join this spiritual service. The service will offer a time for praise, meditation, adoration and confessions.
A Festival of Praise was never conducted at Waynesburg University, so this event will be a new experience for everyone. The Newman Club hopes participants will learn about other ways of worship and broaden their view of the Catholic faith. This is not an event to convert to Catholicism, but a way for all denominations to join together with a common interest.
The Rev. Francis Frazer of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Waynesburg will preside over the Eucharistic Adoration and youth minister Scott Lieb of Apollo will speak about what adoration and reconciliation mean to Catholics and why these celebrations are sacred.
In lieu of an admission fee, Newman Club asks for a donation of a canned food item or an article of clothing. All donations will go to local organizations.
Refreshments will be served after the service. For more information, email sti2170@student.waynesburg.edu.
