HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Harrisburg man accused of killing his estranged wife tells a television station he “absolutely” did it.

Phillip Greenhowe is charged with homicide in the stabbing death of 27-year-old Shalamar Greenhowe.

He made the admission Thursday to WHP-TV reporter Lara Greenberg while police led him into a court building.

“Did I kill my wife? Yeah, absolutely I did,” Greenhowe said. He then called the slain woman a derogatory name.

Police say the couple was separated and in the process of divorce.

The 37-year-old Greenhowe was arrested in January at an Atlanta homeless shelter days after police discovered Shalamar Greenhowe’s body in an apartment bedroom.

Officers had been attempting to serve a warrant on Phillip Greenhowe in connection with an assault against his teenage child.

Greenhowe waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.
