Court cases
Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:
Gregory W. Safko, 42, 11 Pepper Lane, Lawrence; furnishing liquor to minors; charged June 22; sentence – 12 months of probation, 150 hours of community service within 12 months and $1,000 fine.
Dennis J. Carini, 20, 115 Lincoln Drive, Fayette City; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged June 8; sentence – 6 months of probation.
Edward Stonick, 29, 435 Sixth St., Donora; burglary and retail theft; charged July 17; sentence – 7 to 23 months in jail with credit for time served, 23 months of probation, 25 hours of community service and banned from Dollar General.
Kenneth Prentice, 54, 519 First St., Charleroi; theft, public drunkenness and defiant trespass; charged June 17; sentence – 18 months of probation concurrent to any other sentence being served, 100 hours of community service and no contact with victim.
Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:
James W. Wright, 33, 17 Fifth St., Vestaburg; possession with intent to deliver; charged July 31; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail with credit for time served, restitution.
Darius M. Rawls, 19, 806 Crest Ave., Charleroi; possession with intent to deliver; charged April 12; sentence – 1 year less 1 day to 2 years less 2 days in jail and obtain his GED.
Appearing before Judge Valarie Costanzo were:
Michael D. Caldwell, 27, 302 Old West Road, Bentleyville; possession of a controlled substance; charged April 14; sentence – 6 months of probation.
Darel J. Barbour, 32, 310 Woodland Apartments, Washington; two counts of possession with intent to deliver; charged July 1; sentence – 9 to 18 months in jail, 1 year of probation and forfeit $180 to district attorney’s drug task force.
Jason P. Toombs, 34, 3414 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh; possession with intent to deliver; charged Feb. 21, 2014; sentence – 1 year less 1 day to 2 years less 2 days in jail with credit for time served and money seized forfeited to DA drug task force.
Joseph G. Stringent, 53, 906 Park Ave., Johnstown; second offense of driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without insurance; charged June 13, 2013; sentence – 90 days to 18 months in jail with credit for time served, $1,800 fine, alcohol highway safety school, 18-month license suspension and 12-month interlock ignition device.
Brandi L. Cree, 33, 456 Fayette St., Washington; acquiring controlled substance by misrepresentation, conspiracy and insurance fraud; charged Feb. 27, 2013; sentence – 5 years of probation, restitution, cannot work in a place where in contact with drugs and banned from Target, CVS and Walgreens.
Mark W. Painter, 46, 316 Beallsville Road, Bentleyville; possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license; charged June 2; sentence – 90 days of electronic home monitoring, 12 months of probation and $500 fine.
Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:
Laverne J. Davis, 38, 507 E. Chestnut St., Washington; first offense of DUI and driving with a suspended license; charged July 4; sentence – 6 months of probation, $500 fine and 1-year license suspension.
Tracy M. Larimer, 35, Weirton, W.Va.; second offense of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license; charged Aug. 8, 2012; sentence – 23 months in Intermediate Punishment Program with first 90 days of electronic home monitoring, $1,700 fine, alcohol highway safety school, 18-month license suspension and 12-month interlock ignition device.
James W. Price, 28, 104 E. Katherine Ave., Washington; first offense of DUI; charged July 20; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $500 fine, alcohol highway safety school and 1-year license suspension.
Joseph D. Garner, 54, 380 Moon Road, Washington; third offense of DUI and driving with blood-alcohol content 0.02 or greater while license suspended; charged May 23; sentence 180 days to 23 months in jail, $2,500 fine, 30-month license suspension and 12-month interlock ignition device.
Corey W. Dorsey, 28, 225 Hayes Ave., Washington; possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and false identification to law enforcement; charged July 3; sentence – 12 months of probation, $200 fine and 1-year license suspension.
Gary E. Beighle, 44, 661 Cleveland Road, Washington; possession of a controlled substance; charged July 1; sentence – 6 months of probation.
Charles G. Grodes, 38, 110 Bowman St., Cuddy; driving with a suspended license, flight to avoid apprehension and providing false identification to law enforcement; charged Aug. 20; sentence – 60 days of electronic home monitoring, 18 months of probation and $500 fine.
Matthew J. Cody, 19, 105 Hardwood Drive, Venetia; possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance; charged March 31; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Several people were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to have their record expunged.
Kendall M. Koterba, 19, 317 Main St., Richeyville, was admitted for 12 months for first offense of DUI, charged May 25.
Joseph D. Yunkun, 27, 38 B Orchard Lane, Monongahela, was admitted for 12 months for first offense of DUI, charged Aug. 24.
Leadeth J. Rambeau, 71, 1971 The Road, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for first offense of driving under the influence, charged Sept. 1.
Kristen V. Bedillion, 23, 125 Day Road, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for first offense of DUI, charged July 26.
Matthew D. Wise, 41, 307 Waynesburg Road, Washington, was admitted for 12 months for first offense of DUI, charged July 26.
Erik Semko, 20, 4704 Williams Port Road, Monongahela, was admitted for 6 months for receiving stolen property, charged Nov. 7.
Tynan A. Noakes, 21, 610 Davidson Road, Grindstone, was admitted for 12 months for driving without a license, charged Oct. 14.
