INDIANA (AP) – A former Western Pennsylvania high school shop teacher has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor sex charges to settle accusations that he raped a 16-year-old student in a private room near the shop class in 2012.

The Indiana Gazette reported 30-year-old Todd McCullough, of Kiski Township, pleaded guilty Monday to indecent assault and indecent exposure. The Indiana County district attorney won’t object to probation when McCullough is sentenced in July.

In return for the plea, prosecutors dropped seven other charges, including felony rape.

Police had charged that McCullough raped the girl at Saltsburg High School student in the spring of 2012, police said. That allegedly occurred after other incidents in which he made inappropriate comments to the girl, exposed himself, and asked to see her breasts.

The school is about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.
