Jesse White appeals removal from ballot

1 min read

Jesse White is appealing the decision that removed him from the Republican primary ballot in the Cecil-area magisterial race.

White filed the appeal to Commonwealth Court on Thursday after visiting Senior Judge John Reed’s ruling Monday that 18 of the candidate’s 113 petition signatures were invalid, putting him under the necessary threshold.

Sharon and Alan DePaoli of North DePaoli Road, Jason Capps of Morganza Road and Roslyn Corton of Farm Valley Road filed the challenge March 17.

White remains on the Democratic primary ballot for the district judge race on May 19. He is running against Traci McDonald-Kemp and Mike Philips, both of whom cross-filed and will be on the Republican and Democratic ballots in the primary.

The former state representative lost his re-election bid for a fifth term office last November.
