Students recognized at ceremony
JEFFERSON – The Filer-Sadlek American Legion Post 954 celebrated 96 years with a dinner at the post home March 21.
The dinner included a recognition ceremony for students in Jefferson-Morgan School District who were winners of the American Legion Color-It-Proud and essay competitions.
The post also honored Jefferson-Morgan middle school social studies teacher, Rob Ardeno, who it chose as educator of the year. Several members of the post were recognized for years of membership, including, Glenn Yorko of Mather for completing 60 years of continuous membership in the American Legion. Woman veterans of the post that were honored at the dinner included: Lucille DeFrank, Nicole L. Mort, Barbara Smith and Lenora Stanko.
