Police beat April 1
Truck stolen: A tan 2009 Dodge pick-up truck was stolen between Feb. 1, 2014, and Dec. 23, 2014, from exit 11 on Interstate 70 east. A white fuel tank with a red pump and a Miller Pipeline special welder were inside the truck bed. Anyone with information can call state police at 724-223-5200.
Endangering child charge: Orin Anthony Benjamin, 29, of Canton Township, was charged by state police with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person for allegedly leaving a 5-year-old boy home alone at 219 Bench Ave. Tuesday morning. He was arraigned by District Judge David Mark and taken to Washington County jail on a $25,000 bond.
Drug arrest: Torie Stimaker, 24, of 523 First St., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with possession of six heroin stamp bags and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from police being summoned to her residence March 25 and Saturday after she overdosed on the drug, court records show. She is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Warrant arrest: Kenneth Prentice, 54, of 519 First St., Charleroi, was taken into custody Thursday by Charleroi Regional police in the 600 block of Fallowfield Avenue on an outstanding bench warrant. He was placed in Washington County jail.
False reports: Lisa Welch, 35, of 1213 McKean Ave., Charleroi, was charged with false reports to law enforcement Saturday after she allegedly told Charleroi Regional police a man struck her in the face, then later recanted her statement.
Warrant arrest: Devan Wood, 27, of Cemetery Road, Brownsville, was taken into custody Saturday by Charleroi Regional police in the 100 block of Prospect Avenue on an outstanding bench warrant. He was placed in Washington County jail.
Tractor-trailer stuck: Michael Malott of Pulaski was driving a tractor-trailer Monday when he became stuck while attempting to turn on Johnston Hill Road, blocking traffic. Malott told Chartiers Township police he was following directions from his GPS.
Property stolen: William T. Emory of 4122 Jefferson Ave., Hopewell Township, told state police a 20-foot aluminum ladder that was next to his garage was stolen Monday. Anyone with information can call police at 724-223-5200.
Drug arrest: Robert T. Phillips, 56, of 341 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, was arraigned Monday on a warrant obtained by McDonald police on two counts of possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Phillips allegedly made arrangements to sell marijuana to a confidential informant. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released on his own recognizance.
Endangering child arrest: William H. Oliver, 57, of Polk, was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly driving a motorcycle on Walnut and North Main streets with a three-year-old girl sitting on the bike in front of him. City police said the girl was wearing an adult, non-approved helmet and eye protection that did not fit properly. He was arraigned by District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of endangering the welfare of children, lacking protective equipment, and driving without a license and with an expired inspection. He was taken to Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
