Donora teen charged in brawl at bus stop
A Donora man was arrested Monday on charges he started a large fight last month at a Ringgold School District bus stop in the borough, and another suspect in the case is wanted on a warrant.
Donora police accused Shakal Brooks, 19, of 134 Thompson Ave., of conspiring with Jessica Simpson, 32, also of Donora, to start the brawl that caused a boy to need emergency medical treatment for his injuries about 2:30 p.m. April 17 at Fifth Street and Castner Avenue, court records show.
Police said Simpson had a confrontation with a student that day. Brooks allegedly asked Simpson if she wanted him to assault that teen’s brother, and she replied, “Yes,” police stated in the affidavit.
Brooks is accused of repeatedly punching and kicking the boy as he and others were walking home from the bus stop. Brooks also is accused of striking another student with his hands and a shoe after that student attempted to pull him off the other victim, the court record indicates. Other students joined in the attack, police said.
Brooks is charged with criminal solicitation, aggravated assault, simple assault and conspiracy. He is in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Simpson is wanted on charges of criminal solicitation, simple assault and conspiracy.
