Fugitive caught: Jeremy K. Garrett, 37, of Lansing, Ohio, was apprehended Saturday in a yard at 244 Taylorstown Ridge Road, Buffalo Township, state police said. Garrett was wanted on a warrant stemming from charges of domestic violence and receiving stolen property filed by the Belmont County, Ohio, sheriff’s department. He was arraigned as a fugitive from justice and placed in Washington County jail without bond for 30 days, pending extradition to Ohio.

Theft charge: Justin Michael Samol, 30, of Hiller, will be charged by California police with theft after he allegedly stole money from behind the counter at Campy’s Pizza, 153 Wood St., Thursday afternoon. He then allegedly stole a cellphone from behind the bar at Wood Street Grille. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

DUI alleged in accident: Jason Gerstner, 39, of Ligonier, will be charged by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said his vehicle hit a car parked in the lot at 45 E. Pike St. early Sunday. His blood-alcohol content was three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Driver faces charges: Adam Beam, 38, of Lucia Drive, Canonsburg, will be charged by Canonsburg police with a vehicle weight violation and failure to have the boom arm on his excavator secured following a traffic stop Saturday on Hillview Street. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Cans stolen: Aluminum cans being stored in a trailer behind Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, 112 W. Pike St., were reported stolen Friday, Canonsburg police said. The cans were going to be turned in for cash.

Money stolen: Canonsburg police said management at Papa John’s, 113 Cavasina Drive, reported a former employee stole money from the business. The investigation is continuing.

Medication stolen: Gloria Lee of 304 N. Central Ave. told Canonsburg police Sunday prescription medication was stolen from her home.

Twice charged: Joshua Jones, 34, of 605 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, faces two counts of felony retail theft after he allegedly stole items twice Saturday, about an hour apart, from Dollar General, 514 Fallowfield, Charleroi Regional police said. The first time he took a can of soup, and the second time he stole a dog bone, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

Items stolen: Tricia Kauffman, 45, of 1203 Upper Meadow Ave., Charleroi, was arrested by Charleroi Regional police on a felony charge of retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Dollar General, 514 Fallowfield Ave., on Saturday. She was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released.

Burglary, trespass arrest: Earl J. Phillips, 27, of 263 Miller Road, Washington, was arrested Saturday by state police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and harassment after he allegedly entered the Donegal Township home of his estranged girlfriend, Jessie Miller. He also reportedly contacted her on social media despite being told to stop. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Threats, lewdness charges: Fred Harold Rose, 49, of 1326 Meldon Ave., Donora, was arrested Sunday by Donora police on charges of violating a protection-from-abuse order, terroristic threats, open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He is accused of going to the home of his estranged girlfriend, Cynthia Jones of 1373 Gilmore Ave., and asking for water. When she refused, he allegedly exposed himself to her. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Theft, receiving charges: Brian Russell, 28, of 143 Fredericktown Terrace, East Bethlehem, was arrested Saturday by East Bethlehem police on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud for allegedly stealing credit card information from Don Dunseath, also of Fredericktown Terrace, and using the information to make unauthorized purchases. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released on $25,000 unsecured bond.

Drug arrest: Allen McGriff, 33, of 428 ½ Second St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records state. Police accuse him of selling a confidential informant 10 stamp bags of suspected heroin about noon Feb. 5 in the Monongahela Post Office, 312 Chess St., the affidavit indicates. McGriff is in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Mark Wilson.

One hurt: Robin Abraham, no age or address provided, was injured Sunday afternoon when her southbound vehicle went through the median of Interstate 79 near the Canonsburg exit, North Strabane, and crossed into the northbound lanes, hitting a box truck driven by Patrick Smallwood, no age or address provided, head on, state police said. Abraham was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Vehicle hits trees: Derek J. Maceiko, 38, of 236 Atlasburg Road, Avella, escaped injury Friday afternoon when the pickup truck he was driving struck a tree lying on Christy Road, went across the road and hit another tree head on, North Strabane police said.

DUI arrest: Kendra Kozel, 21, of Ben Til Road, Pittsburgh, was arrested for DUI May 2 Washington Road and Pleasant View Road in McMurray. According to reports, a resident of Grandview Drive in McMurray called police to complain that a motorist was driving through yards and had destroyed a decorative rabbit display.

Vehicle accident: No one was injured, but a car had to be towed in a two-vehicle accident that took place the afternoon of May 3. According to reports, Sarah Neky, 16, of High Street, McMurray, was eastbound on the 800 block of East McMurray when Gabriella Zacharia, 16, of Bower Hill Road, Venetia, attempted a left hand turn. Neky took evasive action and ended up going over a hill.

Identity stolen: Rebecca Anderson of 114 Emma Lane, Robinson, told McDonald police Thursday that her identity was used to open a Paypal account in her name.

Park arrest: Clifford Moeller, III, 28, and Melissa Moeller, 26, both of 1035 Jefferson Ave., Washington, face charges after Washington police responded to a report of two people in a van at the Stone Pavilion at Washington Park Saturday. Police said found him with a large, straight-blade knife and suspected crack and paraphernalia. She allegedly had paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of having a prohibited offensive weapon and possession of crack, marijuana and paraphernalia, and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. She will be charged with possession of paraphernalia by summons.

Safe, cash stolen: A safe, laptop computer and a box containing petty cash were reported stolen Sunday from the office of Dr. Philip Pinsker, 823 Jefferson Ave., Washington police said. The burglar used a brick to break the glass door.

Man assaulted: Albert Franjione, 56, of Chartiers Township, told Washington police he was sitting at the bar at the Slovak Club, 1205 Jefferson Ave., when he was punched in the nose by another man. Charges are pending against his attacker.

Disorderly charge: Daniel Earlywine, 32, of 520 W. Chestnut St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly was spotted trying to get into vehicles parked on Leonard Avenue Sunday morning.

Door damaged: Eva Gilbert of 670 Jefferson Ave. told Washington police Saturday a man broke a glass panel in her door with a brick. A charge is pending against the alleged vandal.

Home entered: Kathy Andretti of 130 Hart Ave. told Washington police Saturday her home was entered and ransacked, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Mower stolen: John Reynolds of 246 N. Franklin St. told Washington police Saturday his lawn mower was stolen from his backyard.

Faces charge: Dirk Martin, 59, of 240 Allison Ave., Washington, faces a DUI charge after his vehicle almost struck a Washington police cruiser Friday Hall Avenue and Church Street, city police said. He was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his blood-alcohol content.
