Body found in road near hospital may have been pedestrian

1 min read

MCKEESPORT (AP) – Police were trying to determine whether a man found dead in the street near a western Pennsylvania hospital was a pedestrian and, if so, who struck him with a vehicle and why.

Allegheny County police said the 35-year-old man was found dead near UPMC-McKeesport hospital about 3:50 a.m. Tuesday.

An autopsy was scheduled for later in the day and police weren’t commenting other than to say his death remained under investigation.

The county medical examiner was withholding the man’s name until his family could be notified.

Police haven’t said why the man might have been near the hospital, or why they believe he may have been hit by a vehicle.
