Candidate interviews available online
The League of Women Voters of Washington County conducted candidate interviews that were filmed by Peters Township Community Television with eight of the nine candidates for the office of Washington County commissioner.
They can be viewed at washingtoncounty.palwv.org and on Comcast Channel 7/Verizon Channel 38 for Peters Township residents or on the web directly by clicking on https://vimeo.com/ptct7 and looking for the title “Conversations with the Candidates.”
The goal of LWV in all its voter service activity is to help voters get information about all the candidates for an office.
Information about the many candidates running for state judicial offices can be accessed through the Voters Guide on the local LWV website.
All the county and local information is collected and put together by the volunteers of League of Women Voters of Washington County.
The annual meeting for the organization is 6 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at Citizens Library in Washington.
A catered dinner will be provided by the Claysville Main Street Market at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation by Dr. Jennie Sweet-Cushman, assistant professor of history and international studies and assistant director of the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics at Chatham University.
Her topic will be “Women in Politics.” The business meeting follows.
The public is invited to attend any or all of the evening’s events. To attend the dinner, at a cost of $17, please RSVP to Judy Hughes as soon as possible at 724-745-3111 or email her at jh0709@comcast.net. No reservation is needed to attend the speech at 7 p.m. or business meeting at 7:30 p.m.
